Born in 1970 in Southern Germany, I have lived in Switzerland since 2003. Photography has been a passion of mine since my adolescence when I received a Polaroid camera as a birthday gift and later upgraded to an analogue SLR camera. After a longer period of photographing more or less anything that appeared in front of my camera - including thousands of family pictures – I discovered my passion for landscape photography, and I have focused on this genre since about 2015. Being out in nature offers me a much-needed balance to my full-time job in management, and taking pictures is a creative outlet that clears up my mind.
I live in the Swiss canton of Vaud. Characterized by agriculture and rural scenery, the area around my home offers spectacular views to the Swiss Alps as well the Jura mountains, but also rivers, forests and simply a lot of untouched nature. I take almost all of my pictures within a small perimeter of where I live. This is the place I know best and where I shoot my most authentic images.
Over the past three years, some of my pictures have been published in landscape photography magazines and have been rewarded in local and international competitions.
